News Charge

Last week, my sister told me that she heard Newspapers were going to go out of print at some point in the near future. That kind of annoyed me because they are such huge parts of so many people's lives. The stop in newspaper printing would be due to the easy access to online news.

So it made me really happy when I heard that the New York Times is going to start charging for access to their online newspaper in early 2011. But if you subscribe to the print version, online access will be free.

The Diana!

Over the weekend, my friend and I went out to some scenic spots in Topanga canyon to take pictures with my Cannon and her Diana. The pictures were taken with vivid color film and they turned out sooooo awesome!

This one was taken with a multiple exposure on the setting and the faint light of early evening.

So Retro

I have recently aquired about the coolest gadget ever. Get ready . . . a 1980's Cannon camera. It shoots in both black and white and color film and is made of full metal. Although having to develop the film and always have it with you in case you run out gets a little annoying, it takes the most gorgeous pictures!

When you have a camera in your hand, suddenly everything is beautiful!

Globe Alerts!

The Golden Globes were last night, and I'm very happy with all the results! Maryl Streep won best actress for her role as Julia Child in Julie&Julia so yay, because she really is just the best. Neither of the nominees from GLEE (Leah Michelle and Matthew Morrison) won, but the show itself did win best TV show. Avatar won big, as we all knew it would, with best drama and awarding the amazing James Cameron with the award for best director. Although, on a more disappointing note, Joseph Gordon-Levitt who was nominated for his adorable portrayal of Tom Hanson in 500 Days of Summer did not win for best actor :(

All in all, it was a great night!

WHOA!

Hey, so here's a little glimmer of hope for ambitious young people: James Cameron wrote his enormous hit Avatar when he was twelve years old! He then waited for modern technology to really get big before he went anywhere with it, and thank goodness for that! Avatar is one of the most visually brilliant movies of all time, but if the dialog sounded a little stunted, now you know why.

3D Fashiom

3D seems to be the high tech fettish right now. And it'll be in full action this Sunday at the golden globes. There's this nifty little feature this year called the "holigram glam cam" (cheesiest title ever, right? I know!). Anyway, this nifty little gadget will stream video of the stars on the red carpet in 3D so you can compare and contrast their fashion choices. Let's just hope no one's wearing anything hideous!
